Temperature plays a big role in instant film performance.

• Store film in the fridge, never the freezer

• Allow film to reach room temperature before use

• Ideal shooting temperature: 13–28°C (55–82°F)

• In cold weather, keep developing photos warm in a pocket

• In hot weather, protect developing photos from excessive heat

Shoot with plenty of light

Instant film loves light.

• Natural light produces the best results

• Use the flash for all indoor photos

• Flash is also recommended outdoors unless it’s very bright sunlight

More light means stronger colours, better contrast and sharper results.

Develop in the dark

Fresh instant photos are light-sensitive during development.

• Photos appear blank at first — this is normal

• Do not shake or bend the photo

• Place photos face down while developing

• Shield colour photos from light for around 6 minutes
